INTRODUCING

Cooled Seat Fix for 2015 to 2018 Fords

As many of you know in 2015 Ford decided to cut weight on its new platforms and this cost consumers functionality. Specifically Ford removed the duct work that fed and exhausted air from the Seat Cooling unit (called a TED). Tim decided to roll out a fix that attacks the lack of duct work for the seats and utilized his 3D design software, 3D printers, AND his engineering background.

-The fix will fit F150s, Explorers, Edges, Mustangs that have the same TED as F150s.

***if you question if it fits please message Tim for verification***

THE STORY BEHIND THE POOR SEATS

Ford knew and chose the easy path, unfortunately that means poor seat cooling

The History

It Started with... A HOT spot!

Saving WEIGHT! Ford removed all duct work from the Cooling Unit called a TED. This trapped the HOT air inside the seat. The TED continuously cycled the air. Think of it as leaving your fridge door open would your fridge ever get cold?

and this was the beginning to Tim working on a fix. Tim utilized his design software (Solidworks) and his 3D printer (MakerBot Replicator2) to fabricate a solution that mirrored pre-2015 cooling seat design (both intake and exhaust ducting). After working with Ford they soon released a TSB that only addressed removing the HOT spot on the rear of the seats. This TSB included a replacement TED with a modified intake SOCK fitting which did provide cooler air to the TED intake from under the seat, but did nothing to remove the hot exhaust from the seat cavity or maximize TED functionality.

Ford's FIX (the TSB)

Ford decided to roll out a fix that required replacing any TED that was already released with a new TED. The NEW TED (referred to as TSB SOCK) includes the white sock shown. This only addressed the localized hot spot found near the magazine pocket.

SeatGuru's V1 Fix (aka Tim)

After several attempts to convince the Ford engineers to go beyond just an intake solution, Tim decided to launch Version 1 of the kit, providing a far more complete approach. Tim took the hot air out of the seat by adding an additional exhaust duct to the Ford TSB TED (which will NOT accept pre-TSB V1 or V2 intake kits). For those that had not yet had the TSB installed either in the field or as part of later 2015-2016 production, a second model of the V1 kit provided both intake and exhaust ducting that attached to the original factory TED.

SeatGuru launches V4 Fix

To help with inventory and simplify the ordering experience Tim decided to put more work into the design and update the kits once more.  The kit is now universal for TSB or NON-TSB trucks.

Kit was also updated to use a more flexible tubing for the exhaust side due to a change in quality tubing from Tim's blue tubing vendor.

Tim made a great effort to Fix the mistake that Ford made. Tim put in countless hours designing and talking with Ford seat complete team.

Living in TX I expected my $60k truck seats to work. I was shocked when I found how many people had the same issue. I would not hesitate to buy SeatGuru's kit!

DO YOU HAVE THE TSB OR NOT

It is easy to tell if you have the TSB based on this simple image.  If you have the sock under your seat you have the TSB Installed.

NOW this doesn't change the kit you order!!!!

TSB or NO-TSB
